Financial Freedom: November 2019 Spending
November was a weird month in the sense that we got some extra money from our solar panels. It ended up working out because we had our neighbors over so we ended up spending a little more on food. Plus, we needed a new doorbell so we used the extra money for that, as well, instead of dipping into our house fund.
Now, for the main event. If you would like to read in more detail about our spending, check out the first October spending post.
Mortgage:
Budget: $2240
Actual: $2237.13
Bailey:
Budget: $166
Actual: $ 113.78
Confession: Tyler & I went clothes shopping and he let me use some of the Bailey fund for some clothing. About $65 went to clothing and the rest for Bailey.
Groceries:
Budget: $300
Actual: $479.65
Like I mentioned above, we had our neighbors over. We spent a little more on the food and booze than we normally would.
Utilities:
Budget: $75
Actual: $24.27
Cable:
Budget: $87
Actual: $113.98
Might've bought Disney+. I will be getting $10 cash back at a later date. Plus, I had some money from the cable company given back. This category is going to look a little different after this month because our "promotions" end. I tried calling and they said they had nothing going on right now but to try again at the end of December/beginning of January.
Internet:
Budget: $45
Actual: $45
Loans/savings:
Budget: $2800
Actual: $2800
Insurance (home/car):
Budget: $109
Actual: $108.88
Water:
Budget: $100
Actual: $174.15
I mentioned this last time I made my monthly spending post, but I figured I'd mention it again here - The last couple months we were learning our new sprinkler system so this number is a bit high. However, we have learned from it so hopefully next year we won't have this issue, and I already know December we are back on track!
OTHER: $160. we bought a nest doorbell. I work from home so I wanted something where I could see who was at the door when I'm home alone. Our other doorbell stopped working, as well. So we didn't just buy a doorbell just to buy one, we were replacing one that didn't work.
The next couple of months, I will not be sharing my personal spending simply because I am doing some Christmas shopping, and I do not like to have people know how much I am spending on them. :)
Total Budget: $6348.86
Actual Spending: $6258.84
November 3, 2019 loans: $192,900.24
December 16, 2019 loans: $190,721.33
I usually do the loans amount on the same day to have a better idea of how I am doing each month, but I did not realize I didn't write it down when I calculated it on the 3rd. I will go back to the 3rd next month so this month and next month may look a little different, but that's ok!
I hope this helps you with your spending and paying off your loans! If you have any questions or requests on any topics you'd like me to address, feel free to comment or email me. Happy Holidays!
